Get involved

If you’re thinking about joining Kinder Mountain Rescue Team, then read about joining us but remember that you don’t need to be in the team to be involved!

Supporters play an important role in the team in many ways. Examples include financial support, perhaps by running a fundraising event or having a collecting box, practical support, maybe by looking after children during a callout or making sandwiches and flasks, or moral support, just by being interested in what we do.

Although we provide a 24 hour a day, 365 day a year professional search and rescue service, the Kinder Mountain Rescue Team is made up of unpaid volunteers and we receive no government funding. Fundraising, through appeals and donations, is an important part of what we do, so that we can provide the best possible search and mountain rescue service. The running costs of the mountain rescue team are around £13,000 per year. This money comes from general collections and donations.
