Callout 1: 12 January 2008

The year started with a call at 13:05 to assist Edale MRT / Buxton MRT joint snatch squad. A solo walker was going up Crowden Brook and had fallen about 20ft at one of the waterfalls and landed in the water. He had a fractured femur, head injury and hypothermia. While this was going on a second call came in about a walker who had tripped at the bottom of the Grindslow Knoll path. He had a suspected ankle fracture. We were called to help with carrying off the Crowden Brook casualty. He was eventually winched into a Seaking helicopter and taken to Sheffield hospital. The walker at the bottom of Grindslow Knoll was taken to hospital by air ambulance
